Mrs. Brown holds various health and fitness certifications, including Health Coaching, Personal Training, and Life Coaching, and she recently formed a non-profit enterprise, The Divine Health & Wellness Center, Inc., an enterprise created to implement programs that serve our local underserved community members in the areas of health, wellness, education, recreation, and sports; meeting unmet health and fitness needs in the population, which is now called Lifestyle Medicine.
Physical Inactivity, Child and Adult Obesity, and Poor chronic disease management are three of the greatest health risks facing our community today.
Our mission is to use our innovative programs in partnership with health care providers, to use Lifestyle Medicine to help reduce health disparities within Baltimore City communities, and more specifically in the areas of Child and Adult Obesity, Physical Inactivity, and Chronic Disease Management (Lifestyle diseases). We believe exercise is the medicine that will make a difference in the prevention of diseases, and we are encouraging physicians to write an “Exercise Prescription” prescribing exercise as a treatment of lifestyle diseases. We also aim to reduce youth violence and other health disparities in minority communities through recreation, wellness, and education, sports and mentoring. Our non-profit mission is to provide programs and services that promote the sound mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health and well-being of underserved and at-risk populations in Baltimore City across their lifespan.
